Howdy!
Come join us on the "2006 Western Safari Tour" of parts of California, Arizona and Nevada. This is a camping tour. We start our tour from San Francisco on June 25 at 7 am and conclude the evening of July 8. Cost of Tour is $1140, plus an additional $60 if you stay the nights of June 24 and July 8 at the hotel.
It is best to arrive on Saturday, June 24th. We will leave in a modern air conditioned bus. You need to bring a sleeping bag, pillow and comfortable clothes, including one nice outfit in case we go out for a night on the town. Our first night's stop will be in Los Angeles. On Monday, we visit Universal Studios, later the Chinese theater and walk of the stars in downtown Hollywood.
Tuesday, it's Disneyland from 8 am - 12 midnight. Wednesday we head to San Diego to check out the California beaches and other local attractions. Thursday, we go to Sea World to see Shamu the whale. On Friday it will be a long day on the bus. We go all the way to the Grand Canyon, where we check out the sights and sounds of the biggest hole in the world. You will be awed by its many beautiful colors.
From there it is off to Las Vegas. We'll arrive in time to spend the afternoon by the pool. You will later have time to check out the famous Las Vegas strip. We will then travel to Bakersfield, which will take us most of the way to Yosemite (we can't make the entire trip in one day). Next we go to Yosemite, one of the most beautiful places on earth. We'll spend our last three nights there, relaxing, hiking and visiting with those great new friends we have become so close to over the past two weeks.
On Saturday morning we load up and head back to San Francisco. We will try to arrive there early enough to allow you some time walk on the Golden Gate Bridge and visit Fisherman's Wharf. We will conclude our tour with a nice dinner out (no more camp food).
We know you will love this tour as much as the many exchange students that have taken this tour in the past. We are only taking one bus, so sign up now!! We can only accept the first 50 applicants. Applications will be available on the WESSEX website in September.
